101 Arcane Discoveries: #3 Improved Resistance

Improved Resistance
“Soon I will be invincible!”
Prerequisites: arcane school and resistance class feature, wizard 1

Benefit: You gain resistance 10 against the energy type chosen for your resistance class feature. The value of the energy resistance granted increases to 20 points at 7th level and 30 points at 11th level.

  1. I'm liking this, but I would think that it might start out at a resistance of 5 (that's typically where the resistance on magic items start), then progress to 10 and 20, with the option to become elementally immune.

    Wait... I didn't see the resistance class feature... so I suppose that's where the base of 5 would come in.

    Couldn't you also break it down so that you have greater improved resistance (resist 20 points) at 7th level, and Elemental Resistance Mastery (resist 30 points) at 11th level, breaking it up so that it's three feats. Just a thought on my part.

  2. I could have done that but then you have a feat chain no one would actual take because it is too weak because the resistance still only works against one energy type. And if your not being attacked by that its useless. Defense always needs to be stronger than offense to be useful.

    I am working on about 31 other things right no (hey I did a blog post about that) so I don't know when I will have time but I will try to look and give some feedback, maybe this weekend.
